Accessibility
Clear learning. Easier access.
Tell us about a barrier, or a format that would help you use the resources.
Our target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not completed a formal audit, and we make no conformance claim.

An approach built around useful access.
We want people with different access needs to be able to read, navigate and use every free resource. We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Readable content
We aim for plain language, short sentences, clear headings, readable type and dark text on light backgrounds.
Navigation and forms
We aim for full keyboard access, a visible focus outline, a logical reading order and a visible label on every form field.
Resource formats
Printable PDFs with real, selectable text, and a way to ask for the text in another format.
What the pages include today.
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Text alternatives on informative images, including every page preview. Decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers.
- Form messages, such as a confirmation or an error, are placed in a live region so screen readers can announce them.
- Layouts that adapt to phone-width screens.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts and no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from our own site.
These are features built into the pages. They are design goals we check as we write, not the result of a formal audit.
Resource formats and access.

Known limitations.
These are the gaps we know about today.
PDFs are made for printing
The PDFs are not tagged for screen readers and have no fillable form fields. Their text can be selected and read aloud by many PDF readers, but headings and reading order may not come through clearly.
Page previews are images
Previews of PDF pages are pictures. Each has a short text description, but not the full page text. The full text is in the PDF, or by plain-text email on request.
Other websites
Links to sources such as MedlinePlus or the FDA open other websites. Those sites have their own accessibility arrangements.
Tell us what got in the way.
Use the contact form to describe a barrier or ask about a useful format.
Helpful details to include.
The page or resource.
Its address or name.
What you were trying to do.
For example, open a PDF or send a form.
What happened instead.
A short description is enough.
The format or change that would help.
Such as plain-text email or larger print.
Browser, device or assistive-technology details are optional. We never need medical or disability information.

An invented example of a short note. It is not a reported issue.
